In the forests, Chaim van Luit came across these salt pillars, which serve as extra food supplies for the wild animals in hunting grounds. The white cubes are licking stones, sculpted by the circling motion of the tongues of red deer. The title Via Dolorosa refers to the Passion of Christ: the feeding places are also the places where the animals are shot.
