Salim Bayri surrounds himself with an alter ego he calls Sad Ali, a shortening of 'sad alien'. This cartoonlike figure has no organs, undertakes no actions and opposite to a cartoon personality he doesn't talk. As a kind of ambulant search machine she runs around checking out situations and things. Sad Ali is elusive, they are simultaneously present and invisible. She lives in the margins and often goes unnoticed, blending into the background or melting into his surroundings. For this exhibition frozen figurines of Sad Ali are available at the bar. Use them to cool down your drink. They are tasteless, although noticeable.
