Fascinated by the idea that history repeats itself along a phenomenological timeline, Lavinia Xausa’s (1992) work aims to examine the current events (such as migrations, social integration, religious and cultural identity) and pinpoint recurring symbols and icons that have already been experienced by the humankind in the past - so as to give a new perspective on present occurrences, creating new patterns of meaning that would contribute to a better understanding of ourselves and our behaviour in the present, for the future.
