Berlinde De Bruyckere (1964) is a Belgian artist, currently living and working in Ghent. Since her first exhibition in the mid-eighties, De Bruyckere’s sculptures and drawings have been the subject of numerous expos in major institutions worldwide, such as: Museum Hof Van Busleyden (Mechelen, Belgium); Manifesta 12 (Palermo, Sicily); Sara Hilden Art Museum (Tampere, Finland); Kunsthal Aarhus (Denmark); Leopold Museum (Vienna, Austria); Kunsthaus Bregenz (Austria); Kunstraum Dornbirn (Austria); Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (Netherlands); S.M.A.K. (Ghent, Belgium); Kunsthaus Graz (Austria); Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (Melbourne, Australia); Arter (Istanbul, Turkey); Kunstmuseum Bern (Switzerland); DHC / ART Foundation for Contemporary Art (Montreal, Canada). In 2013 she represented Belgium at the 55th Venice Biennale.
