In her playful, and at times obsessive drawings, Aaltje Drammer expressed her fears and dreams. She worked in a compulsive and nervous manner – from left to right, until the wrapping paper was full. Both her imaginative, unrealistic use of colour as well as her handwriting give her work a childlike and primitive look.
