Constant Dullaart

Constant Dullaart studied at the Rietveld Academy and the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. In 2015 he won the Prix Net-Art, an international prize for internet art. Currently work by Dullaart is also on view in the Kunsthal in Rotterdam.
Constant Dullaart is one of the best-known contemporary internet artists. His work, which is often conceptual, appears in both online and offline manifestations. Internet is not the only medium that Dullaart uses, the worldwide web also serves as a topic for his work. Dullaart examines the extent to which digital platforms like Google, Facebook and Instagram can be manipulated. He has a critical way of exposing the structures used by large corporations to influence our view of the world via internet, and the far-reaching effects of communication and image-editing techniques. Dullaart recently started his own tech-company, Dulltech™, with the help of crowdfunding. The work in this exhibition displays the search for 'galaxy' in Google Images, absorbed by a hypnotic spiral.
