Samuel Levack & Jennifer Lewandowski, an artistic duo, are active in many disciplines: from installations, videos and performances to paintings, photos and objects. They sample elements from traditional cultures and at the same time infiltrate the volatile, polished imagery of pop culture and with elegant touches that refer to a transcendental world. This is reinforced by such titles as Sunrise, Gold Totem or Salutations, and their use of such nostalgic terms as ‘happenings’.

Music also plays an important role in the artistic practice of Levack & Lewandowski, for example, in their musical and visual performances under the name Das Hund. The artists are particularly interested in the instinctive and ritual nature of music and dance: the association with magic and folklore, as well as the associated experience of enhancement and loss of control. Das Hund provided a musical performance during the opening of Now Age.
