Frank Bruggeman expresses his fascination for nature and particularly plant material in his work. His archive with plant material, which he has put together himself and keeps adding to, forms the basis for his research and experiments. These experiments end up as three-dimensional objects and installations in which the plant material is combined with industrial objects and waste in a seemingly intuitive way but in fact this has been carefully thought out.

Natural material is a source of inspiration for Frank Bruggeman and he controls it by making the smallest interventions with the largest impact. He often seeks to create a contrast between organically grown and industrially produced material. This contrast is frequently reinforced by the use of artificial cyanide blue.
